April 1-30, 2024 |

April is National Poetry Month!

In celebration of National Poetry Month, Willard Public Library invites you to unleash your creativity and participate in our Haiku Contest, running from April 1st to April 30th. Prizes will be awarded!

🖋️ Rules:

1. Write a traditional haiku adhering to the 5-7-5 syllable pattern.

2. Ensure your haiku captures a connection to the library ---whether it's a librarian's clacking keyboard, a perfect reading spot, or the epic quest for the last available copy, your haiku should capture the quirky charm of library life.

3. Email entries to willard@willard.lib.in.us . Include your name and contact info, and use "Haiku " as the subject line.

All Entries must be submitted by 5:00 pm on April 30, 2024!

🏆 Prizes Await! The top contenders will be showcased on the WPL Facebook page, where the haiku with the most likes will claim victory! The winner will receive exclusive Willard merchandise and a $50 Visa gift card!

🌟 Don't miss this opportunity to showcase your poetic prowess and celebrate the beauty of language and libraries. Join us in honoring National Poetry Month with your exquisite haiku!

Here are a few examples to inspire your haiku masterpiece! Good luck!

Whispers in the stacks,

Ghostly tales upon each shelf,

Library secrets.

Eyes glued to the page,

Forgot to eat, drink, and sleep,

Bookworm's dilemma.

Willard's magic spells,

Turning pages into dreams,

Bibliophile's delight.
