Traditional Christmas Ghost Stories and Parlour Games
6:00 - 7:30pm
During the Victorian era, the chilling thrill of ghost stories became a beloved holiday tradition. Newspapers and magazines eagerly published tales of the supernatural each winter, which were perfect for those long, dark evenings by the fireside.
This December, join us in the Browning Gallery for a memorable evening as members of the Greater Evansville Steampunk Society bring this Victorian tradition back to life. Through dramatic readings of spooky holiday stories and spirited games popular in the 19th century, they’ll transport us to an era when the holiday season invited more than just joy and laughter—but a few shivers, too.
Parental discretion is advised, as these stories explore darker themes that may not be suitable for younger audiences.
